
The program started in 2009 when the university was selected as an Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence by the U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence. Nebraska to set up the Intelligence Community Scholars program that year and added the interdisciplinary national security studies minor in 2011.
We have partnered with Strategic Command, and we have established relationships with career intelligence officials and invite them to work with the students as often as possible.
The program includes:
- National Security Studies Minor
- UNL Intelligence Community (IC) Scholars Program
- Deterrence and Assurance Academic Alliance
- Research, which can include:
- Classroom based research projects
- UCARE student and faculty research projects
- Senior or Honors thesis projects
- USSTRATCOM Academic Alliance papers and conference
