The program started in 2009 when the university was selected as an Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence by the U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence. Nebraska to set up the Intelligence Community Scholars program that year and added the interdisciplinary national security studies minor in 2011.

The program includes five components:

We have partnered with Strategic Command, and we have established relationships with career intelligence officials and invite them to work with the students as often as possible.

The National Security Program at Nebraska is unparalleled in the Big Ten Conference. Our award-winning faculty and resources will contribute to an experience above and beyond any other school.
