Internships are vital gateways into a future career in the intelligence community, occasionally leading to career positions. An internship with a government agency, interest group, or other organization can provide academic experience, credit, and potential career opportunities. Most intelligence community internships open and close in the early fall semester. Some, including the Department of State, are only open until they receive a certain number of applications and others can be open for as little as a week.
As a student in the IC Scholar program at Nebraska, you will be required to apply to at least five intelligence-related internships a year. If you are interested in one of these internships, it is important to have all of your application materials ready so that when the applications open, you can send it off as fast as possible.
